Celebrating Black History Month: Gospel Night

Posted on January 12, 2017 by Emily Roush

Please join the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center for our Black History Month celebration.  The annual Gospel Night hosted by the museum and Ashland Community and Technical College will be held on February 16 from 6pm to 8pm. This annual tradition celebrates the African American musical heritage born through spirituals and work songs of slavery.  The sound and spirit of gospel music will fill the museum as various groups from across the Tri-State display their talents.  This free event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.  If you are part of a choir interested in singing at the event, contact the museum at 606-329-8888.
