First Friday
Admission is a discounted $2 per person from 5-8PM. Zumba with Laura will take place at 6PM on
Winchester Avenue out in front of the museum.

"Twilight Night"
Event goers are encouraged to dress up and will be entered into the contest for “Biggest Twilight Fanatic”, and will have the chance to enter into the trivia competition. The night will begin at 5PM and will include the showing of the movies, “Twilight” and “New Moon”, a variety of delicious foods, prizes, and a Twilight experience to remember! All ages are welcome. Parents should be aware that movies are rated PG-13. Admission is $10 per person. Payment is required at the time of arrival. Cash, check, Visa/MasterCard and Discover are accepted. All proceeds will be educational programming at the museum. Guests will be cared for by the staff and volunteers of the
Highlands
Museum & Discovery

Sleepover at the Museum.
Event goers will be participating in a number of activities at the museum during this event which will include: Starlab (our portable planetarium) sessions where Greek Mythology, Native American Mythology, and Constellations will be taught, both “Night at the Museum” and “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” will be shown on a big screen, clever crafts about creatures of the night to take home, flash light scavenger hunts, behind the scenes tours of “special” exhibits, and more! Dinner and breakfast will be served to overnight guests, as well as popcorn for “movie time”. After all the excitement comes to a halt guests will then crawl into their sleeping bags and call it a night. Everyone will rise early at 7AM, pack their things, enjoy any exhibits they missed the night before, and visit the museum gift shop. Cost for individual children (without) parents is $25, families $20 per person, and groups of 10 or more $15 per person. Ages 8 and up are welcome to stay all night without parents present. Children under the age of 8 will be required to have a parent or guardian present. Guests will be cared for by museum staff and volunteers. Security will be present and will make rounds throughout the night in the museum. Sponsors include the Armstrong Cable, Boyd County Public Library, Huddle House, O’Charleys, Pepsi-Cola, Tim Horton’s, and Waffle House.

Annual Attic & Book Sale/Poage Landing Days.
Vintage items gathered from neighboring attics, old and slightly used stacks of books, bric-a-brac, kitchen tools, vinyl records, bicycles, dolls, trunks, and furniture will be on sale to benefit the museum’s educational programs. Friday, September 17th from 5-7 pm, shoppers can pay an admission fee of $5 per person and can have first choice of the best of the sale at the Attic and Book Sale Preview Night! Admission for Saturday and Sunday is $1 per person and hours on Saturday is 10am-5pm and on Sunday12pm-5pm.
