Joyce Williams Art Exhibit

The Joyce Williams Art Exhibit

Joyce Williams’ original watercolor paintings will be on display starting September 4 in the Main Hall. Williams, an Ashland native and nationally renowned artist, had  solo exhibitions from Maine to Alaska and sold over 1000 works of art during her prolific career.  She was also the former director of the Hudson Valley Art Association and received lifetime status in the American Watercolor Society.  Before her death, she donated a portion of her collection to the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center for display, sale, and as part of the museum’s permanent collection. The Great Depression: Looking Back 85 Years

Located in the Mezzanine, “The Great Depression: Looking Back 85 Years” revisits one of the darkest times in the nation’s history.  This exhibit features the fashion, entertainment, and home life during the Great Depression and includes many photographs and newspaper clippings of Ashland in the 1920s and 1930s. D-Day: 70 Years Later

D-Day: 70 Years Later is an exhibit that commemorates the milestone anniversary of the invasion of Axis Europe by the Allies in June 1944.
