A River Runs Through It: National Juried Art Exhibit

The Highlands Museum & Discovery Center is currently accepting entries for the national juried art exhibit to take place September 7 through September 29, 2012.  Artists 18 and older are encouraged to sumbit artwork for  2D and 3D categories that reflect the theme “A River Runs Through It.”

Remembering the Titanic: 100 years later

Open through July

Travel back 100 years and revisit one of the worst maritime disasters in history. Reproduction Titanic artifacts are displayed alongside period pieces to give visitors a sense of the atmosphere of the Titanic and her passengers.

Next door to Remembering the Titanic is its sister exhibit The 1910′s: A Decade of Adversity. The Titanic was not the only trial the world faced from 1910 to 1919. Artifacts from the decade are exhibited in a display that features the major events of the decade, from a devastating factory fire to World War I.

100 Years of Girl Scouts

March 2012 will be the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts.  Join us in counting down to this momentous occasion by visiting our “100 Years of Girl Scouts” exhibit.  This exhibit features uniforms, patches, and other memorabilia from Girl Scout history.  The exhibit will be open until December 2011.
